Handicraft work: Take a thick sheet of paper in A5 or A6 size depending on the monitor size. Cut out a window about 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm in the middle.

Sit in front of the monitor at a distance of about one arm's length, holding the handmade sheet about halfway between your head and the monitor. Cover the left eye with the hand, then look at the left picture through the paper window with the right eye, move the window sideways, backwards and forwards until the whole left picture is visible. Repeat with the other eye. When both eyes see the whole picture, pull the hand away. Hold the tip of a pencil against the window and look at it with the eyes. Wait until the eyes themselves focus on the images. Now both eyes can see the images across the cross. It thus results in the spatial image.

If it doesn't work, try the following: Hold the window at arm's length in front of the monitor so that both images are visible. Hold the tip of the pencil against the monitor image and keep it fixed. Now slowly pull the pencil back to the eyes until the whole image is visible in the blur. Maintain the eye position, pull the pencil away, now the eyes should focus the stereo image.

Keep the position of the window and the settings of the eyes and scroll to the next pair of pictures, so you do not have to "practise" again.
